우리투데이 이강웅 기자 |  재향군인회 호주지회(회장 방승일)는 올해는 조금늦게 11월 14일 , 어버이의 은혜에 감사하고 어른과 노인을 공경하는 경로효친의 전통적 미덕을 기리기 위해 올해에도 섬머힐 소재 원더미어 양로원(원장 원수지)을 방문했다.

섬머힐 원더미어 양로원은 원수지 원장을 비롯 90명의 직원이 73명의 입주 노인을 돌보는 호주 유일의 한인 양로원이다.

11월14일 양로원을 방문한 재향군인회 방승일 회장,전 재향군인회장 1,2대 이종윤회장, 11,12대 김영신회장, 정해명 재향군인 고문및 , 재향군인회 임원들과 함께 김밥과 라면 원수지 원장에게
전달 했다. 양로원 노인들과 함께 점심을 같이하며 담소를 나누었다. 재향군인회는 윈드밀 양로원과 2025. 7월 16일 MOU계약을 하였는데 원수지 원장님께서 이것을 체결함으로서 호주에 한국양로원의로 정부에서 인정하였다는 기쁜 소식을 함께 전하셨고 그동안 많은 협조 감사하다고 모든 분들에게 감사인사를 전했다.

원수지 원장은 “어르신들이 모두 맛있게 식사하셨다”면서 전해왔다.내년에는 더낳은것으로 대접해드릴것을 약속하고 아쉽지만 발길을 돌렸다.

방승일 회장은 그분들이 있기에 현재 우리가 있는것이라고 말하며, 오신 모든 분들이 재향 군인회가 더욱 더 발전 하기를 바란다고 하셨다. 재향군인회 방승일 회장은 지면으로 나마 다시 한번

The Korean Veterans Association Australia Chapter (President Bang Seung-il) visited the Wondermeer Nursing Home (Director Won Su-ji) in Summerhill on November 14th this year, a bit later than usual, to express gratitude for parental kindness and honor the traditional virtues of filial piety and respect for elders.Summerhill Wondermeer Nursing Home is Australia's only Korean nursing home, where Director Won Su-ji and 90 staff members care for 73 resident seniors.​On November 14, Veterans Association Chairman Bang Seung-il, former 1st and 2nd Chairman Lee Jong-yun, 11th and 12th Chairman Kim Young-shin, Veterans Association Advisor Jeong Hae-myeong, and other association executives visited the nursing home. They delivered kimbap and ramen to Director Won Su-ji.They shared lunch and conversation with the nursing home residents. The Veterans Association had signed an MOU with Windmill Nursing Home on July 16, 2025. Director Won Su-ji shared the joyful news that this agreement meant the home was now recognized by the Korean government as a Korean nursing home in Australia. She also expressed gratitude to everyone for their cooperation over the years.Director Won Su-ji conveyed, “All the seniors enjoyed their meal.” He promised to treat them to something even better next year and, though reluctantly, took his leave.Chairman Bang Seung-il stated that it is because of them that we are here today, and expressed his hope that all attendees would wish for the Veterans Association to develop even further. Chairman Bang Seung-il of the Veterans Association conveyed his gratitude once again, albeit through this medium,to the visiting Veterans Association executives and all attendees.
